Attention Greenwich Residents

The Greenwich Township Police Department has reported a rise in car burglaries throughout town. The Police Deparment are advising all residents to lock their cars even if they are sitting in their driveways and to put any valuables out of sight.

DARE Class of 2006

June 2nd, 2006 - 4th Grade Students at Nehaunsey Middle School enjoyed graduation day on Friday. DARE Officer Mangine, with an assist from Principal Sue McAlary, presented the 4th Graders with their diplomas during the cermony.

Police Department News

The Police Department has received two Office of Conter Terrorism Funding Grants for 2004, 2005 and a pending future grant for 2006.

2004 Grant, was approx. $50,000.00 in safety and tactical equipment for target hardening and buffer zone protection for Valero Refinery and Air Products Chemical Facility. Equipment includes 2006 Ford Expedition, utility trailer and emergency tactical equipment for Police Officers.

2005 Grant. $49,900.00 Buffer Zone Protection (BZZP) for Valero Refinery. Equipment includes 2006 Dodge Durango Utility Emergency Vehicle, Emergency response equipment and personal safety gear for all township Police Officers.

2006 Grant is in the process for continued Buffer Zone Protection for Valero Refinery, Repauno Works and CSX Rail Yards. This equipment will include video cameras monitored by the Police Dept. for all exterior areas of the acilities.

The grants were made possible by the United States Office of Counter Terrorism and the New Jersey Office of Counter Terrorism.

The New Jersey School Security Initiative has been completed for Nehaunsey Middle School and Broad Street Elementary School, Guardian Angels School and Reapuno Day Care. The plan is compromised of a detailed emergency plan, exterior door lock down, dailey police patrol security checks, video monitoring and active shooter drills by the Police Department.
